Get to know legends and interesting stories from Privlaka’s history

Privlaka is mentioned in the first Croatian novel Planine by Petar Zoranic, who was especially fascinated by the famous Privlaka wells. Today, there are 12 left, and the most famous one is Sokolar.

Even though Privlaka is a small place, it’s filled with stories and buildings to visit, like the Parish Church of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary dating to the nineteenth century, one of the most beautiful examples of neoclassicist architecture in Dalmatia. There are also the remains of the Church of Saint Vitus, patron saint of pharmacists, dancers and actors, from the 14^th century.

The most interesting stories and legends are, of course, told by the locals, especially the older generation.
